ATTACK ON THE ISTANBUL CONVENTION

Domestic violence against women does not occur exclusively in patriarchal societies or under autocratic structures. The threat by Poland, Turkey and numerous other European countries to withdraw from the Istanbul Convention illustrates once again that ultraconservative and populist forces are exploiting stereotypes of women and sexual minorities to promote archaic views of society, keep them out of political discourse, discriminate against them and deprive them of their human rights.

Stop domestic violence against women!

The Focus Human Rights on domestic violence against women also examines the situation in Germany. Human rights politics must always be conducted from an internal to external perspective in order to be credible.
